Respect for the dead.

Im actually outraged! As Spence and Jack can tell you lol the reason for this is there is actual debate about whether the video containing Steve Irwin's death should be broadcast. The answer to this is certainly not!
My main argument for this is for his wife and kids. Once the video is released it is out there forever, it will probably be put onto internet TV sites like youtube and some "clever" person will end up putting captions on it and sending it to their friends. Imagine in a few years if his daughter is surfing the internet and happens upon this video, can you imagine the psychological damage it will do the poor lass to see her father being stabbed in the heart by a large fish?
The people who wish to watch this video obviously have some kind of morbid fascination with death, sick minded people. Steve Irwin and his family should be left in peace.

Couldn't agree more!

Though couldn't you say the same to anyone out there who ever went to the cinema and watched any one of thousands of gorey-slasher-horror films.

Honestly I feel it is entirely up to the family as to whether the video is released. the daughter, given the Irwin family's history, will be brought up in full knowledge of what happened to her father. Steve Irwin lived his life educating others about animals no matter what they were or how dangerous. Yes I agree it would be horribly tasteless to release a video of gratuitous nastiness of the aftermath of the death. But I also think It would honour Steve Irwin's life to show the video of what he was making up to his death.
